Beag’s first-ever audition was successful: aged 9, she bagged the juicy role of Mrs Bird the housekeeper in her primary school’s production of Paddington Bear.  And she has been spotted playing battle-axes ever since!

Beag came into acting inspired by her multi-talented offspring.  She trod the boards with a couple of amateur dramatic companies, attended evening drama classes and then trained at Reid Kerr College.

Productions include: Lost Property, Director’s Award winning play at the Arches; Doing It, Baby Grand for Careers Scotland; The Big Picnic, Shoogalie Road; The Glasgow Passion, George Square, for Cutting Edge; Over The Top! – The Tartan Army, Tram Direct; The Very Misunderstood Mr Punch; Red Riding Hood; McAlister in Wonderland, Theatre Presto tours.  Beag performed twice at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2014 with: Plaza Suite and McAlister in Wonderland.  She has joined with friends to put on several productions: Mood Swingers, An Inspector Calls, and Season’s Greetings.  Beag can be seen hamming it up in the background in the hit Scottish movie Sunshine on Leith and was an ‘exuberant’ dancer in the 2013 Citizens Theatre production of Dr Faustus.

Beag has also worked as a voiceover artist for BBC Bitesize, is a volunteer newsreader on Insight Radio for the RNIB, and is a trained audio describer.  Beag has studied Creative Writing and wrote and performed a piece for NTS’ 5-Minute Theatre 2014 broadcast.

In 2014 Beag happily found herself ‘WANTED’ by The Walking Theatre Company to play two roles in Wicked Wild West Murder Mystery.  And she enjoyed it so much that she spooked them into letting her play Nancy Boyz in Haunted Hotel Murder Mystery at Halloween!
