The Walking Theatre Company

Well, it is hard to believe that we are already at the end of January 2013 – time flies when you’re having fun! It’s been a busy start to the year for TWTC, and we are looking forward to a very busy year ahead!

The Works of the Bard.

If you have liked us on Facebook, or follow us on Twitter, you’ll know all about our favourite day of the week…#TheatreThursday ! Every week, we chat about a different theatre related topic, and get some fantastic responses from our fans! On the 24th January, in preparation for our Alloway 1759 event, we were discussing Robert Burns, and your favourite works. Here’s what some of our fans had to say;

Erica -  “Ae Fond Kiss”
Robert - “To a Louse”
Tom -  “Highland Mary”
Iyline - “To a Mouse”

And in the TWTC office, our favourites are;

Sadie -  “My Love is Like a Red Red Rose”
Alana -  “My Heart is in the Highlands”

Thanks to all our fans and followers who get involved with #TheatreThursday! Make sure you ‘like’ us on Facebook, and follow us on Twitter to get involved every week!

Corporate Training Events

If you’re looking for a fun-filled team building event, get in touch with us here at TWTC and hear all about the corporate events we provide. Whether it’s for a new group, or an established team that needs some team bonding, we have a variety of actor led performances that will get people working together, problem solving, and having a laugh!

Our deadly addictive Murder Mystery Team Building events are ideal for bringing groups together in a fun, interactive environment, where bonds are made, and laughs are had!

The Prince’s Trust in Glasgow were our first corporate group of Super Spies in 2013, where we hosted a bespoke Murder Mystery Team Building Day at Hampden Park. The event was a great success, and we hear we were the talk of the office for days after the event!

Hayley Hughes from The Prince’s Trust commented:

“ Huge thanks for the bespoke team building event, as a newly formed team we really needed an experience to gel us together and our Murder Mystery experience will certainly be remembered for a long time to come! …The session was interactive and so much fun the whole team had the opportunity to participate and the fact that the actors arrived in character and remained in character right up until the end really added to the dynamic of the day.”

Happy Birthday Dear Robert

TWTC were thrilled to be involved in this years official Robert Burns Celebrations in Alloway, Ayrshire. On Sunday 27th January, our actors took to the streets of Alloway and performed our special Burns commission “Happy Birthday Dear Robert”. We took our audience back in time to 25th of January 1796, the day of our national bard’s 37th birthday. When his wife, Jean, banishes him from the house so she can prepare for his birthday celebrations, Burns and his old friend Alexander Cunningham, go on a journey through Alloway, reminiscing on the past, using Burns’ famed works.

TWTC were very proud to be a part of the Alloway 1759 celebrations this year, and hope we can perform in Alloway again soon!

A very big thank you to all our faithful audience walkers who came along on our journey, and enjoyed our traditional Scottish faire prepared by Chef Alison Sykora.  The typical Scottish weather did not put our wonderful audience off – Brollies and Burns, what a perfect day!

Make sure you visit our Facebook page for photos from the event!

Electric Glen 2013

TWTC is delighted to be involved in this years Electric Glen at Rouken Glen Park in East Renfrewshire. Our actors will be involved in telling the stories of the parks past, while surrounded by the illuminated trail which will bring magic and colour to the chilly February evenings. The events are now sold out, and will run from Wednesday 13th – Sunday 17th February 2013. We are delighted to be involved in such an exciting exhibition of creativity, and to be working with specialist arts company, Culture Creative. The events will allow ticket holders to explore the park after dark, learning about the parks historical and cultural relevance, as they take in the magical sights and sounds created especially for Electric Glen.

Live and Love Spy!

The 14th may be a day full of love, but Wednesday 13th of February 2013 is set to be a day full of fun, frolics…and bloody murder! Come on down to Kilmartin Café and Grounds for an evening of good food, a lot of laughs, and some murderous goings on! For tickets and more information on this wickedly wonderful event, call 01546 602312.
