The Walking Theatre Company

There’s snow on the hills, frost on the ground, Santa will be popping in for milk and cookies in a few weeks, and like the Elves in the North Pole, here at The Walking Theatre Company we are as busy as ever!

Malta-teaser!

This month, TWTC packed up our Saltires and swapped walking boots for flip flops, as we headed off to Malta! TWTC’s Artistic Director, Sadie Dixon-Spain, met with a number of professionals from the Maltese performing arts sector, making some great connections and discussing some very exiciting future collaborations! Sadie commented, Malta is a place of sun and laughter and great potential, extraordinary sites and an open door for a tourch of ‘Walking Theatre’.” We’ll be walking all over the world in no time!

Our Murder Mystery events are continuing to be a raving success, and on the run up to Christmas, it looks like there is going to be a lot more fun and frolics before the year is out! If you are looking for a riotous, unforgettable evening, whether it is for a special occasion, Christmas night out, or a get together with friends, get in touch with us for more information on our deadly addictive parties! We’ve got some great partnerships with Cameron House at Loch Lomond Shores, Best Western Argyll Hotel in Dunoon, and Radisson Blu in Glasgow. Tis the season for a Murder Mystery…or two!

2013: Year of Natural Scotland
With December just around the corner, it’s time to get looking to the future, and plan ahead for 2013, the Year of Natural Scotland! Aiming to promote Scotland’s natural beauty, there will be a number of events throughout next year, and here at TWTC we can’t wait to get involved! Between our eco forest family walks with Baron CantBeBothered, and our Flying Kitchens taking you on a forage through Scotland’s natural kitchen, bringing a forest kitchen to your table top, it’s safe to say the Year of Natural Scotland is right up our street! If you are organising an event and think TWTC is exactly what you need, get in touch by email, or phoning 01369 820 115, and we would be more than happy to discuss your project!

Happy St. Andrew’s Day from everyone at The Walking Theatre Company!

ABSEN Conference

Over the 7th and 8th of November, TWTC took part in the Argyll and Bute Social Enterprise Network (ABSEN) conference in Dunoon. It was a great networking event, and not only did we catch up with old friends, we also made some great new contacts! During the conference, TWTC scooped £250 from the Dragons Den Activity, which we are thrilled about! Thank you, Dragons!

Iona 2013

In 2013, we are thrilled to be involved with the Iona 2013 project which will see a variety of events taking place throughout Argyll and Bute to commemorate the 1450th anniversary of the death of St. Columba. The Walking Theatre Company will be performing on a number of occassions throughout the celebrations. Working alongside a number of fantastic organisations and theatre companies, the events are sure to be a great celebration! Check our website for updates on events and confirmed performance information.

Here at TWTC, we are encouraged to explore the Gaelic language, and incorporate Gaelic language, culture and heritage into our performances. We already have a number of performances which include Gaelic teachings, and we aim to keep growing our Gaelic knowledge. Our Ulpan lessons with the fantastic Kevin Rogers have therefore been in full swing this month. What a beautiful language! Math Fhèin!
