The Walking Theatre Company are thrilled to be a part of the ‘Plays in the Park’ initiative at Loch Lomond Shores, Balloch!
Loch Lomond Shores is a successful shopping and tourist attraction, including Jenners, Hawkshead, Bodum & a Sealife Centre: They are keen to capture a family market and bring more children to the area, which is well known for its shopping experience. They have added play-park and workshops, however felt that they were not getting the offering ‘quite right’ or attracting large enough numbers.
Theatre and performance is a great way to attract crowds, and Loch Lomond Shores contacted TWTC to provide ‘theatre walks’ for family groups!
Feedback from audience members through social networking has been fantastic with requests for more shows and suggestions for desired themes.
We are seeing a great deal of return business and families are going from the shows to enjoy the hospitality of the cafes’ and the shops at Loch Lomond Shores.
The chosen shows are all suitable for audiences of all ages, and are ideal for a family day out. Each performance takes the audience about the site, surrounding the shopping area and past other ‘static attractions’ showing off the environment and what is available about the site. Each event lasts for approx 90 minutes and offers an evocative, fun-packed adventure.
“I can’t say how amazing that was! Your team are fabulous, the whole thing was…I am bursting with happiness!”
Clare Gemmell, Centre Manager, Loch Lomond Shores
