New Show Launches at the Caledonian Canal

WATERS OF TIME

We are delighted to share with you the news of our exciting new Walking Theatre historical piece, commissioned by Scottish Canals, which will delve into the past of the Caledonian Canal in Fort Augustus this July and August!

‘The Caledonian Canal significantly re-shaped lives and land in its forging and as a writer, I have been inspired by the journey through time, that the canal has taken me on. Momentous and epic are two words that spring to mind.’ – Sadie Dixon-Spain, Playwright and Artistic Director of The Walking Theatre Company shares her experience in delving into past of the Caledonian Canal, and writing this fantastic production.

Tickets for Waters of Time are available from the Caledonian Canal Centre, Fort Augustus.
Performances held on 25–29 July and 1–5 August.
Performance times: 11am, 12.15pm, 2pm, 3.15pm and, 4.30pm.
Tickets £7 each, Under 5s free.

The Caledonian Canal Centre is open daily – grab and go and retail: 9am-5pm; café: 9am-4.30pm.

!FESTIVE ANNOUNCEMENT KLAXON!

The Walking Theatre Company is delighted to be performing at the stunning Blenheim Palace this Festive Season, for the 2016 #ChristmasAtBlenheim event!

The estate will be illuminated for an unforgettable after dark festive trail along winding paths, beside tranquil waters and through extraordinary Parkland. A spectacular site-specific Christmas production has been created by TWTC’s very own Sadie Dixon-Spain, and we are thrilled to once again be working with our fantastic friends at Culture Creature.

With rehearsals well underway, we would like to introduce you to our first ever Christmas at Blenheim Cast! We are delighted to welcome Alexandra Ford, Owen Frost, Gavin Moore, and Bethany Goodman to team TWTC – and what a elf-tacular bunch they are!

WALKING THEATRE GOES ON TOUR!

The first week of February sees TWTC heading off ON TOUR to the Scottish Borders!

We are super excited to be packing up ‘Braw – an aw’fy ‘Brave’ adventure’, and ‘The Power Down Play’ and heading to a number of Primary Schools for a spot of theatre…with an added helping of Gaelic!

Our Last Show at Kew!

Today saw the last performance of ‘When Twilight Falls’ our Grotto show at Christmas at Kew. A fabulous experience, thoroughly enjoyed by all, and we  mean that. Creative on so many levels, challenging, uplifting, frustrating, absorbing, and inspiring. Thank you to the magnificent team TWTCUKSouth, John Love, Abigail Poulton, Jake Waring, Alyson Elizabeth Butcher, Tanya Lewis. Can’t wait to work with you all again. Also a massive thank you to team Culture Creative, led by the epic Mz Zoe Bottrell and her extraordinary team, Claire Elliot, Jez Light, Pablo Lane, Jez Hellens, Daniel Pearson, Ellie Thompson, AJ Hammerton, Dan Fox (and everyone we have missed), who made us all feel so very welcome and part of a FAB team. Thank you all. We hope we see you next year, with glittery baubles on! Huzzah!

A whirlwind Walking Theatre weekend!

What a few days it has been for TWTC! Super Spies in Dunoon, A Wonderland Adventure at Hill of Tarvit Mansion, MacBeth lurking at Dalmuir Park, hidden treasure & Long John Silver at Braemar Castle, and today, a ‘Braw’ time was had at Crathes Castle, Garden & Estate! What a fantastic time our acting teams have had – thanks for all your hard work guys and gals! Did you join us on any of our Walking Theatre adventures this weekend?
