Janis Marshall-Reilly

Founder member of Cowal Youth Theatre, which ran throughout the 1990s, Janis started her professional working life as a Public Relations Assistant at the Scottish Parliament, enthusing young people by splashing colour into the world of politics. Throughout this time she performed, including at the Edinburgh Fringe where she was also employed for several summers as the High Street Events Administrator. Having survived an MA Theatre Studies at the University of Glasgow, her true training has been through her extensive freelance work as a theatre and short-film performer, director and workshop practitioner. She has toured Scotland and Northern Ireland, working with and performing for people of all ages and abilities through companies such as Baldy Bane, Borderline, Cultural Connections, Cumbernauld Theatre, National Theatre of Scotland, Sounds of Progress, Tram Direct, The Walking Theatre Company and Hopscotch with whom she is a Company Associate. From a strategic/administrative perspective, Janis is also a skilled arts development manager and events co-ordinator. Along with husband Paul Kozinski, Janis continues to manage and develop her own production company, UNSCENE, which provides opportunities for professional theatre and film practitioners to ply their trade as well as producing multi-arts events and workshops. www.unsceneproductioncompany.co.uk
