TWTCSouth Shake-speare’s things up!

This week we go into production with our TWTCSouth team and A Midsummer Nights Dream, a rip roaring Walking Theatre adaptation. Rehearsals in Putney and Ealing ?#?LCM?. Looking forward to joining our merry crew together: Karen Bartke, James Heatlie, Allan Scott-Douglas, Millie Hobday and AD, Sadie Dixon-Spain.

The Alloway Rap – Buy the book!

TWTC’s Artistic Director and In-House Playwright, Sadie Dixon-Spain, was awarded ‘Highly Commended’ in the Tam O’Shanter ReBoot Competition 2014 for ‘The Alloway Rap’ – a play for voices Sadie created, inspired by the great Bard‘s work ‘Tam O’Shanter’.


The play has been performed by the pupils of Kilmodan Primary School, and by Forehill Primary School who performed as part of the 2014 Alloway 1759 Celebrations! Breaking News! We’re ‘Walking’ to Canada!

TWTC are thrilled to announce we are heading back to Canada!

We have been invited to present and perform at the inaugural Symposium for Performing Arts in Rural Communities (SPARC), hosted in the Haliburton Highlands, Ontario, about 3 hours North of Toronto. TWTC’s Artistic Director and In-House Playwright, Sadie Dixon-Spain, will be accompanied by Core Company Actor, Colin Little, and our Canadian Walking Youth Theatre Project coordinator, Nancy Kovachik, to attend the four day event, to learn about the arts in rural Canada, to network with some fantastic performing arts professionals from all over Canada, to present “Theatre Without Walls: The Story From Scotland”, and to perform three conference shorts over the weekends events.

On Saturday, 17th of August, we are hopping on the ferry, and delighted to be a part of the Tarbert Harbour Authority’s Centenary celebrations, as we debut an exclusive TWTC piece “Two Thirds Fish”, written by our very own Artistic Director and In-House playwright, Sadie Dixon-Spain! The performance explores the history of Tarbert Harbour, and along the way, we will meet iconic people from the Harbour’s past! Our performance starts at 15:30hrs, and is a part of a whole host of celebratory events taking place this Saturday! Fun for all the family!

Sunday 18th of August will see TWTC delving into the world of Shakespeare, as we head to Finlaystone Country Estate to host a ‘Conference of the Faeries’, TWTC’s very own adaptation of ‘Midsummer Nights Dream’! Join Annie FairBottom on a Hen Party like no other, and see the beautiful grounds of Finlaystone in a whole new light!
