So we want to know, where would YOU like to see TWTC perform next year?
Woodland, forest, community, Clachan, ruin, Castle, garden…get in touch and let us know!
Look forward to hearing your suggestions!!
“Take me to the New World!”
The Isle of Lismore was the location of the second Scottish performance of “Selkirk’s New Nation” by The Walking Theatre Company and the Canadian Walking Youth Theatre, on Sunday 30th of June 2013.
Our acting team braved the typical Scottish weather, and put on a fantastic interactive, walking performance for a fantastic audience, who let the weather dampen their clothes but not their spirits!
Starting outside the Lismore Gaelic Heritage Centre, the action began when Miles MacDonnall, played by TWTC Core Company Actor, Colin Little, set the scene of the Highlands in 1811, to spread news of Lord Selkirk’s venture to ‘the New World’. Or team of 25 Canadian Youths put on a fantastic show, supported by both Colin, and TWTC’s Artistic Director, in-house playwright, and Selkirk’s New Nation’s Lady Selkirk, Sadie Dixon-Spain.
Our Youth Team have no left Scotland, and after a few days exploring London, will be returning to Manitoba with an abundance of stories, and a whole host of memories to share with their friends and family back home.
We wish them safe travels, and can’t wait ’til we meet and perform with them all again soon!
