Meet the Cast: David Sargent!
🎅 Introducing David Sargent as Father Christmas at Christmas at Bedgebury 2021! 🎅
David trained at Mountview Theatre School. Roles include Bilbo Baggins in a national tour of The Hobbit for Nottingham Playhouse; Laertes in Hamlet for Mandrake Theatre Company; Edgar in King Lear at The Edinburgh Festival; Antiochus/Cleon/Simonides in Pericles at The Cochrane Theatre, London and a series of new short plays for Paines Plough Theatre Company at The Trafalgar Studios, Whitehall, Deeds Not Word – an immersive theatrical experience set in a 1917 Military Hospital run entirely by women – for Digital Drama playing Gunner George Hook.
David’s television credits include: Murphy’s Law; Eastenders; Happiness; Casualty; Doctors, Chucklevision, The Genius of Turner – Painting the industrial Revolution (as Captain George Manby), The Spa with Rebecca Front for Sky TV, Southcliffe for Warp films and Channel 4, Murder Maps as The Brides in the bath killer George Joseph Smith and ‘Pennyworth’.
On film David can be seen in The Return, The Complex and British People.
David also has extensive experience as a Voice-Over artist (which includes playing a Dalek in a ‘Dr Who’ ‘Comic Relief’ Special entitled ‘The Curse of Fatal Death’), cartoons, narrations, advertising and corporate work. This year he played various roles in an audio drama spin off of “Blake’s Seven” for Big Finish Productions and narrated a new Audiobook with music for children entitled “The Pirate’s Piper”. David can currently be seen as “Johnny Two Pencils” in the new “Carpetright” advertising campaign.
